Does a broken clock work twice a day?
That’s the question raised by Donald Trump’s closing to his announcement that the U.S. had bombed a Syrian airfield in response to a chemical weapons attack on civilians.
Not only did Trump say “God bless America” as every president has done since Nixon, but he added the phrase “and the entire world.”
Does our “accidental president,” like a broken clock, simply get it right on occasion by ticking away 24/7, or is he undergoing a serious religious conversion?
Here’s My Take: Ignoring the juxtaposition of bombings and blessings, it appears that the hands of universalism – “and the entire world” – have belatedly started moving for our Presbyterian-confessed president.
Then again, some cynics would say that a broken clock is never right.
