WILD CAROLINA JASMINE AND THE CRUCIFIXION

Welcome to Roger’s Take on Religion: An Inclusive Perspective

Mother Nature shed her beauty across our state during Easter week with the blooming of dogwoods and wild Carolina jasmine. At the same time, human nature raised its ugly head in our state capitol.

Without public discussion, a “religious freedom” bill limiting LGBT rights was introduced in the North Carolina Legislature and, within a matter of hours, passed and signed by Governor Pat McCrory. Georgia Governor Nathan Deal refused to sign similar legislation saying that it was not representative of his state.

Here’s My Take: Mother Nature brings new life. Human nature demands crucifixions. Love believes in resurrections. That’s Easter.
