Welcome to Roger’s Take on Religion: An Inclusive Perspective
Face it, I’m fixed on finding the holy in the everyday and in discovering the religious outside the traditional. (It started in high school when I first read Bonhoeffer’s poem, “Who Am I?”)
For this reason, Caitlyn Jenner’s new television show, “I Am Cait,” fascinates me. Her opening line in the first segment, “What a responsibility I have. I just hope I get it right. I hope I get it right,” is the ultimate cry of faith.
Here’s My Take: The courage to live out one’s life seeking authenticity is a divine calling. We all need to watch carefully where God and Caitlyn are taking us.
*Who am I? They mock me, these lonely questions of mine. Whoever I am, Thou knowest, 0 God, I am Thine!
